Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) - The Granite State's largest electric utility, serving more than 490,000 homes and businesses throughout the state.
Granite State Electric Company (GSEC) - Whose franchise territory includes western and southern areas of the state, serves approximately 6 percent of the retail customers in New Hampshire. GSEC is a subsidiary of National Grid.
Unitil Energy Systems, Inc. (UES) - A subsidiary of Unitil Corporation, was formed when Unitil consolidated two former subsidiaries, Concord Electric Company, and Exeter and Hampton Electric Company. On a combined basis, these companies serve approximately 11 percent of New Hampshire’s retail customers in both the Seacoast and Capital areas.
New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NHEC) - Provides electric service to about 11 percent of retail customers throughout the central part of New Hampshire.
Unitil/Northern Utilities, Inc - Unitil/Northern Utilities serves approximately 29,566 gas customers in the southeastern and seacoast areas of New Hampshire. Unitil acquired Northern Utilities in 2008 from Bay State Gas Company of Massachusetts, a NiSource company.
National Grid NH – Serving approximately 86,000 gas customers located throughout the Merrimack River valley from Nashua to the Lakes Region, with a few more in Berlin, New Hampshire. National Grid NH’s operations were formerly known as EnergyNorth Natural Gas, Inc. prior to being acquired by KeySpan in November 2000. KeySpan was acquired by National Grid in 2007. National Grid NH continues to maintain natural gas operations facilities in Nashua, Manchester and Tilton and a regional corporate operations center in Waltham, Massachusetts.
New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission - Gas & Water Division assists the Commission in regulating 20 water utilities and five sewer utilities in New Hampshire. The 20 water utilities own approximately 100 separate systems, ranging in size from 26 customers to about 26,000.
