Sometimes, the best deal is one that is never made

In business, making no deal always beats making a bad one.

Don’t sign personally, if you can avoid it. Don’t take on more debt than you can reasonably carry. Don’t be talked into anything...by anyone at any time. You are the one that's ultimately responsible for every decision you make. Remember to follow your instincts and seek the advice of your own trusted professionals.

It’s your dough, kids...brokers, owners, contractors and attorneys do this day in and day out and, no matter how good you think you are, they are the ones playing on home turf.

Surround yourself with good people and trust, but verify, their advice.

The word "No" is both a complete sentence and an acceptable answer in business;
don't be afraid to use it.
